On January 13, 2011, the first Riesling-Lounge of the German federal capital, Berlin, officially opened in the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The lounge was initiated by the German Wine Institute and offers its guests a great variety of fine wines from all 13 German wine growing regions. Besides renowned premium Riesling and sparkling wines, it also offers fine German Pinot Noirs and cuvées. "With Riesling-Lounges we want to call attention to our multifaceted leading grape variety RIESLING. We invite epicures to experience our uncomparable wines in an enjoyable atmosphere", explains Monika Reule, Managing Director of the German Wine Institute. "After successful openings in Munich and Cologne, we are delighted to be represented at such a good address in the federal capital". Heddo Siebs, Hotel Manager of the Grand Hyatt Berlin sees the Riesling-Lounge as an excellent complement to the gastronomy concept of his luxurious house: "With the wines on offer, we regionalise our cuisine in our in-house restaurant "Mesa". The Mesa offers a selection of fine German dishes in the middle of each table. The wine pairings Riesling-Lounge has to offer, matches these dishes perfectly. We regularly invite German wine makers to present their wine creations first hand and in person. Opeing hours of the Riesling-Lounge in the Mesa-restaurant of the Grand Hyatt Berlin: 12 a.m. - 12 p.m. More information: www.mesa-restaurant.de. Archive: |
