Riesling & Co. 2009 Recap
The Destination Riesling Campaign celebrated the success of two Riesling & Co. vintage tasting events in San Francisco and New York City. The San Francisco tasting was held at the de Young Museum on June 8th and featured 21 German wine exhibitors. This was the first time Destination Riesling hosted a large walk-around tasting in San Francisco which was very well received by the 128 trade and media members in attendance. Attendees included representatives from Jardiniere, Martini House, and Zazu restuarants and Epicurean Traveler, The Tasting Panel Magazine and Palm Springs Life Magazine.
On June 10th, the tour continued in New York City with 34 wine exhibitors from Germany, Alsace and Austria at Tribeca Rooftop. The trade and media portion of the tasting attracted over 400 attendees, including top influencers in the industry, such as representatives from The New York Times, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Bloomberg News, the Institute of Masters of Wine North America and the International Riesling Foundation. Following the trade and media tasting, the doors opened for 200 consumers that were anxious to sample and learn more about the numerous European Rieslings at the tasting.
The Riesling & Co. events were great opportunities for participating producers to meet wine writers, importers, buyers, sommeliers, and even consumers. We are looking forward to Riesling & Co. 2010!
