Calling Sommeliers & Wine Educators: Join the Wines of Germany Ambassador Program

Are you a sommelier or wine educator with a passion for German wine? If so, keep reading – we’d love for you to join our 2021 Ambassador Program!

In 2016, Wines of Germany launched its Ambassador Program to further engage trade and consumers through local programming executed by sommeliers and wine educators across the country. Through this network of ambassadors, Wines of Germany leverages trusted, local industry members as go-to sources for information, tastings, and classes around German wine.

Each ambassador is compensated and tasked with hosting anywhere from one to three events: either geared to local area consumers in partnership with a restaurant or retailer or specifically tailored to fellow members of the trade. Programming to date has included everything from intimate paired dinners to late night rooftop tastings to formal, ticketed seminars on specific German wine styles. Despite each event having different target audiences, themes and formats, all ambassador programming aims to achieve a series of goals including:

  • Raise awareness of German wines, from exploring the country’s rich winemaking history to the innovation taking place today.
  • Expose consumers and trade audiences to a diverse array of German wines, including the country’s prized Rieslings and Pinot Noirs as well as its  lesser-known varieties, through interactive events and tastings.
  • Create memorable experiences that inspire consumers to seek out wines from Germany and industry contacts to carry more German wine.

Does the opportunity to creatively teach local consumers and/or members of the trade about German wine sound interesting to you? Then apply to be part of our ambassador program here! Applications are open through Friday, February 26.
